The World's Most Delicious Salads Revealed: Turkey Enters the List with 6 Flavors

The list of the world's top 100 salads has been announced. Six traditional Turkish flavors have made it onto the list, including Antalya's famous piyaz, which is among the top 10.
The TasteAtlas gastronomy database has listed the world's top 100 salads. Antalya-style piyaz ranks 9th on the list, followed by other Turkish flavors such as Mersin-style kısır, eggplant salad, semizotu salad, zeytin piyazı, and çoban salad.
At the top of the list is Greece's Dakos, a salad from the island of Crete. This salad is made by layering barley rusk with ripe tomatoes, myzithra cheese, olives, capers, fresh thyme, and olive oil.
Bulgaria has three different flavors in the top 10. The Ovcharska salad, made with mushrooms, eggs, and ham, as well as the yogurt-based Snezhanka and the Shopska salad, made with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and Bulgarian cheese, are among the country's signature dishes.
Tunisia's Houria, made with boiled carrots, and Mechouia, made with roasted vegetables, are also among the top-ranked salads.
Turkish cuisine has entered the list of the world's top 100 salads with a total of 6 flavors. Antalya-style piyaz ranks 9th, while Mersin-style kısır ranks 17th. Eggplant salad is 27th, semizotu salad is 43rd, zeytin piyazı is 54th, and çoban salad is 60th.
