Zaharova Responds to Zelensky’s Air Defense Comments

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova responded to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s comments on the country’s air defense system. Zakharova stated that ‘nothing can help him now, he is a tick that has attached itself to the body of the Ukrainian people.’ Zakharova’s statement came after Zelensky’s speech on Saturday. Zelensky had mentioned that Ukraine’s air defense system was struggling to stop Russian ballistic missiles. He also noted that six ‘Iskander’ missiles launched towards targets in Kiev at night could not be intercepted by the air defense. The Russian Ministry of Defense had previously announced that the Russian army has the capability to bypass all air and missile defense systems and hit any target in Kiev and throughout Ukraine.
