Rich Countries That Receive High Immigration Gain Economically

It has been found that rich countries that have received high immigration over the past 35 years have made significant economic gains. A study by researchers at the University of California, Davis, found that immigration has made significant contributions to the economies of developed countries. The study analyzed data from dozens of OECD member countries and found that most immigrants are highly skilled individuals who contribute to economic growth and labor productivity. One of the study's authors, Professor Giovanni Peri of the University of California, Davis, stated, "In countries that receive immigration, labor productivity has increased significantly during and after periods of high immigration rates."The study also noted that much of this growth is due to increased investment. The fact that natural population growth in the European Union has been negative since 2015 makes the findings even more significant.According to the study, up to one-third of the economic growth per worker in countries such as Spain, Italy, and the UK between 1990 and 2024 can be attributed to immigration.
