Leadership Transition: Burnham Takes Over from Starmer
A leadership transition has taken place in the UK. Former Prime Minister Keir Starmer stepped down and left his residence on Downing Street. Starmer highlighted that during his six and a half years of leadership, he managed to recover the party from the 2019 defeat and achieve a significant victory in 2024. Starmer visited Buckingham Palace to formally submit his resignation to King Charles III. After stating 'my duty is done', Starmer departed from Downing Street.New Labour Party leader and Prime Minister Andy Burnham met with the King to receive the task of forming a government. Upon accepting this task, Burnham will proceed to Downing Street to deliver his first speech, where he is expected to announce the '10-year Britain plan' to the public. Burnham is anticipated to announce his first cabinet and conduct his initial meetings with world leaders.
