16 New Departments from YÖK: Which Departments Will Be Included in the 2026 YKS Preference Guide?

The Higher Education Council (YÖK) has announced that 7 undergraduate and 9 associate degree programs will be opened in the 2026-2027 academic year. The new programs, including artificial intelligence, financial technologies, biotechnology, mobile security, digital game technologies, and drug production, will be included in the 2026 YKS preference guide. The programs to be opened include "history and artificial intelligence", "philosophy and artificial intelligence" and "business and artificial intelligence". The programs aim to bring artificial intelligence together with social sciences, not limited to engineering and computer sciences. "Financial technology", "biotechnology and genetics", "paramedic" and "fishery technology" undergraduate programs will also accept students for the first time this year.
