Development in YKS: One Question Canceled, Answer to Another Changed

The investigation into two contentious questions from this year's Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) has concluded, as announced by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Following the completion of the investigation, ÖSYM made several announcements. The analysis of the questions from the 2026-YKS 1st Session Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) on June 20, 2026, and the 2026-YKS 2nd Session Field Proficiency Tests (AYT) on June 21, 2026, has been completed, answer key checks have been finalized, and objections have been scientifically evaluated. The ÖSYM Board decided to change the answer to question 23 in the Math Test Basic Question Booklet from “C” to “A”. Additionally, the 20th question in the Turkish Language and Literature-Social Sciences-1 Test Basic Question Booklet was canceled. According to the relevant article in the 2026-YKS Guide, questions that are canceled after the exam by ÖSYM or judicial authorities will be excluded from the evaluation, and the scoring will be done by reassessing the valid questions.
