Controversy Over Incorrect Question in YKS Literature Test

Controversy Over Incorrect Question in YKS Literature Test
The Turkish Language and Literature test in the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) has sparked controversy due to a question about the character 'Handan' in which the character's name was written as 'Nermin' instead of 'Neriman'. The question has also become a topic of discussion on social media. Educators have stated that despite the other parts of the question being correct, the incorrect spelling of the character's name undermines its scientific validity. The use of the 'Nermin' character in many books has caused confusion among candidates who read the question. Cevdet Eyüpoğlu, Head of the Turkish Language and Literature Department at Uğur Schools, stated, 'The use of 'Nermin' instead of 'Neriman' in the question may confuse students. However, since the character Refik Cemal is also mentioned, the question is not considered completely flawed, and therefore, the likelihood of it being cancelled is low.' It has also been claimed that a question in the math test is incorrect. The question about 'finding the root range of a function from its derivative graph' has sparked controversy. Some educators have stated that the answer to the question is not the option announced by ÖSYME and have requested that the question be cancelled.
