Fire in Yenimahalle: Suspect Arrested for Allegedly Starting the Blaze

A fire broke out in a grassy area in Yenimahalle, Ankara, yesterday. The fire was brought under control after hours of work by the responding teams, preventing it from spreading to nearby homes and the forest.
Security camera footage showed an individual using a lighter to set the grass on fire. The suspect, 41-year-old Serkan S., was taken into custody on suspicion of arson.
The fire occurred in the Uğur Mumcu Mahallesi 1649 Sokak area, and following reports from locals, fire departments, police teams, and a helicopter were dispatched to the scene. The response efforts lasted approximately 2.5 hours.
