New Season, New Rules: Super League Introduces Changes
The 69th season of the Super League is starting with new applications. The Turkish Football Federation is implementing new rules that were first used in the World Cup in the 2026-2027 season. One of the most notable changes is the way substitutions are made. If a player does not leave the field within 10 seconds after being substituted, the other player will have to wait for 1 minute before entering the game. A player who stops the game due to injury will have to wait for 1 minute on the sidelines after the game resumes. If a goal kick is not taken within 5 seconds, a corner kick will be awarded to the opposing team. If a throw-in is delayed, the throw-in will be awarded to the opposing team. The Central Referee Board previously stated that they have planned a comprehensive education and information process to ensure the correct and uniform application of the new game rules:

The application principles of the new game rules, which were first implemented in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, have been officially transmitted by UEFA to the member federations and referees who will take on international duties. As the Central Referee Board, in harmony with other national federations in Europe, we have planned a comprehensive education and information process to ensure the correct and uniform application of the new game rules before the 2026-2027 season.
