New Era in Car Rental: License Will Be Mandatory

A new era is beginning in the daily car rental sector. With the regulation prepared by the Ministry of Trade, only businesses with the necessary license and professional competence certificates will be able to operate. Companies operating in the sector will now have to have their main business as car rental or a similar field. TOKKDER President Özarslan A. Tangün stated that the new regulation will bring the standardization that the sector has been waiting for.With the new regulation, companies that provide car rental services will have to meet certain criteria. The purpose of these criteria will be to increase service quality in the sector and reduce consumer grievances. TOKKDER President Tangün stated that there are approximately 1,500-2,000 short-term car rental companies according to official records, but this number reaches 15-16 thousand in trade registry records.
