Historic Step in AI Cooperation: World Organization Established

Russia, China, and more than 25 countries have come together in Shanghai to establish a world organization for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.A ceremony was held in Shanghai for the signing of an agreement on the establishment of the World Organization for Cooperation in the Field of Artificial Intelligence. The agreement was signed by Russian Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Other countries that signed the agreement include Algeria, Belarus, Brazil, Cambodia, Congo, Cuba, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lesotho, Malaysia, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Oman, Pakistan, Senegal, Serbia, South Africa, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Zambia, and Cameroon.The signing ceremony took place ahead of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, which will be held in Shanghai from July 17 to 20. Chinese President Xi Jinping will deliver the opening speech at the conference.
