National Mourning Declared in Venezuela After Earthquakes

A 7-day national mourning has been declared in Venezuela after the devastating earthquakes that occurred on June 24. As search and rescue efforts continue, thousands of personnel and volunteers are working in the affected areas. Venezuela's Interim President Delcy Rodriguez stated on social media that the country is in deep mourning due to the destructive earthquakes. Rodriguez expressed solidarity with the families of those who lost their lives, saying, 'Today we share the pain of the families who lost their loved ones; we pray for the injured, the missing, and all the communities affected by the disaster.' According to local reports, more than 80,800 families have received humanitarian aid since the earthquake disaster. A total of 26,121 personnel from Venezuela and 3,660 search and rescue personnel from other countries, along with 148 trained search and rescue dogs and 49 technical vehicles, are supporting the relief efforts.
