Mother's Sacrifice in Venezuela Earthquake: Saved Her Daughter, Lost Her Life

According to local media and a social media post by footballer Héctor Bello, Bello's wife Andrea made a great sacrifice to protect her small daughter during the two powerful earthquakes. The mother was killed in the rubble, while the child was rescued and taken to the hospital. The footballer stated that he went to Caracas after the earthquake and his daughter is being treated in the hospital, with her health condition being good but requiring further hospitalization. At least 920 people have been killed and over 3,000 injured in the two major earthquakes that struck near Caracas, the capital of Venezuela.
