Discovery of a New Cosmic Entity: The Black Hole Star

Astronomers have announced the discovery of a new type of cosmic entity, dubbed the 'black hole star' or MoM-BH*-1, which is as large as our solar system. Located in the direction of the Cetus constellation, this object is believed to have existed approximately 660 million years after the Big Bang.The black hole star emits 100 billion times more energy than any known star, which cannot be explained by nuclear fusion reactions. Computer simulations and spectral analysis revealed a feeding black hole with a mass of about 100,000 times that of the Sun at its center, surrounded by a dense hydrogen gas shell.The radiation emitted by the black hole filters through the gas layer, causing the object to appear like a massive star and emit a bright red light.This discovery may shed light on the nature of the mysterious 'Little Red Dots' frequently seen in JWST images. The black hole star could be the seed of the supermassive black holes found at the centers of modern large galaxies.The research, led by scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Hawaii, provides insight into how black holes grew so rapidly in the early universe.
