Enhancing Our Production Capacity

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek highlighted the 7.9% year-on-year increase in high-tech production in May. Minister Şimşek made assessments regarding industrial production, stating that the five missing working days in May affected annual production. Including the statement

Industrial production declined year-on-year in May due to five missing working days. However, in the first five months, production adjusted for calendar effects increased by 1% year-on-year. The annual increase in high-tech production was 7.9% in May. With the policies we have implemented, we will continue to increase our capacity for high-value-added production and our competitiveness by extending the success we have achieved in the defense industry to other high-tech sectors. As we move up the value chain, we are also not ignoring the difficulties faced by our traditional sectors; we continue to strongly support production.
