The Leader in International Passenger Traffic: Incheon International Airport

Incheon International Airport in South Korea has become the world's busiest airport in terms of international passenger traffic, serving 38.39 million international passengers in the first six months of the year. Located about 48 kilometers from Seoul, the capital city of South Korea, Incheon International Airport handled 38.39 million international passengers in the first half of the year, according to the Airports Council International (ACI). London Heathrow Airport in the UK ranked second with 37.79 million passengers, followed by Singapore Changi Airport with 34.53 million passengers. The conflicts in the Middle East have changed the routes of air traffic, with some flights being diverted from major hubs like Dubai to routes passing through East Asia. The number of transfer passengers at Incheon Airport increased by 18.1% in the first half of the year compared to the same period last year, reaching 4.24 million. The number of transfer passengers heading to Europe saw a more significant increase, rising by 63.2% compared to the same period last year to 210,000. According to the European Aviation Overview Report published by the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), Istanbul Airport was the busiest airport in Europe with an average of 1633 flights per day.
