International Criminal Court Refuses to Comment on US Campaign Against It

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has refused to comment on the US campaign against it, which aims to ‘eliminate the threat to American sovereignty’.The ICC spokesperson stated, “We will not comment on this matter at this stage.” Previously, the US government had announced that it aimed to eliminate the ‘threat’ posed by the ICC to US sovereignty.The statement emphasized that this initiative would be carried out with the participation of all government agencies to systematically render the ICC's ability to threaten US sovereignty ineffective. The statement noted that the ICC's jurisdiction over US military personnel and officials has never been accepted by the US, and that the Court had previously launched investigations into US military personnel and intelligence officials, and had refused to close these files.
