IMF Delays Planned Credit Tranche to Ukraine for Over a Month
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has delayed the payment of a planned credit tranche of approximately $700 million to Ukraine for over a month. According to an analysis based on the IMF's statements and the official credit schedule, there is a delay in the payment of the next credit tranche to Ukraine. In this context, it is considered that the IMF has delayed the payment for more than a month, and the transfer depends entirely on the decision of the fund management. The IMF management had previously approved a new credit program for Ukraine worth $8.1 billion over four years. IMF President Kristalina Georgieva stated that the new credit allocated to Kiev under the program carries “extraordinarily high risks”.
