EU Approves New €3.47 Billion Tranche for Ukraine
The European Commission announced the release of a new €3.47 billion financing tranche under the €90 billion credit package for Ukraine.In a statement, the European Commission reported that a new payment of €3.47 billion had been made to Ukraine under the credit program.European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated, "Today we are making an additional investment of €3.47 billion to help protect Ukraine's skies."The statement also noted that additional aid for the supply of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), ammunition, air defense systems, and missiles to the Kiev administration would be approved and transferred in the coming weeks.Ukraine had previously received €5 billion in financing for military needs on June 30 and July 15, and €3.2 billion in macro-financial support on June 25 under the credit package.
