Ukraine's Military Command May Undergo Changes
There are claims that Ukrainian General Staff Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky may be relieved of his duties. It is alleged that the administration of Vladimir Zelensky is preparing to make changes in the military command structure amid the ongoing government crisis in Kiev. According to a report by Bloomberg, a list of 11 candidates has been prepared as potential successors to Syrsky. Sources suggest that Zelensky is likely to choose Ukrainian Armed Forces Joint Forces Commander Major General Mikhail Drapatiy and that the change could happen 'in the next few days'. Possible changes in the political and military cadres are seen as connected to the ongoing government crisis in Kiev. As part of the transformation process initiated by Zelensky, the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) dismissed the entire cabinet last week, including Prime Minister Yuliya Sviridenko and Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov. Rada MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated that Zelensky accused Defense Minister Fedorov of failing to reform the mobilization offices.
