Ukrainian General Staff Chief Sirsky Reportedly Removed from Office

Ukrainian Parliament member Aleksey Goncharenko claimed that President Vladimir Zelensky has removed Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff Chief Aleksandr Sirsky from his post.This alleged decision by Zelensky has not been officially confirmed by the Kiev administration or the Ukrainian military.Zelensky had recently made a change in his cabinet by removing Defense Minister Mihail Fedorov from his position. This decision had an impact on public opinion; support rallies were held for the former minister in various cities, including Kiev, and protest demonstrations were also held against General Staff Chief Sirsky.As a new defense minister has not been appointed yet, Zelensky has decided that the duties of the ministry will be temporarily carried out by Yevgeniy Hmara, the acting head of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU).
