Ukraine's Exports Come to a Halt Due to Logistical Challenges

The Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine, Andrey Pishniy, stated that the country's exports have been severely delayed or temporarily halted due to restrictions in maritime logistics. Pishniy emphasized that the core issue lies in the limitations of maritime logistics. As Ukrainian companies face increasingly difficult operating conditions, Pishniy noted that they are experiencing cash flow difficulties, accumulation of finished goods in stock, changes in price and demand structures, and disruptions in production and logistics chains. It was previously reported that Ukraine had begun to experience difficulties in exporting grain via the Black Sea. This has resulted in increased burdens on businesses, making it challenging for them to repay credits on time and access new financing. Pishniy warned that if necessary measures are not taken to address these risks, the difficulties faced by businesses could lead to a deterioration in the quality of banks' credit portfolios.
