Ukrainian Public Supports Dialogue with Russia

A recent survey by Gallup, a prominent international public opinion research company, indicates that the majority of the Ukrainian public favors a diplomatic solution to end the conflicts as soon as possible.
Ukraine's public opinion is undergoing a significant shift from military methods to peaceful resolution. According to the latest public opinion research by Gallup International, about 66% of Ukrainian citizens believe that the country should start negotiations with Russia as soon as possible.
This reflects a significant change in public opinion. As of 2026, only about a quarter (24%) of Ukrainian residents support the continuation of military operations, whereas in 2025, 73% of the public supported the continuation of the conflicts, with only 22% seeking a rapid dialogue with Russia.
The research also highlights that the Ukrainian public's preference for resolving conflicts through negotiations has been steadily increasing since 2024.
