Firefighters battle wildfires in three provinces as homes are evacuated
Firefighting teams are on high alert as wildfires rage across different parts of the country. In Muğla's Seydikemer and Fethiye, Antalya's Alanya, and Balıkesir's Gömeç and Edremit districts, efforts to contain the fires are ongoing. Firefighting teams are working intensively from the air and ground to combat the wildfires that have broken out in various provinces. One of the most critical areas is Muğla's Seydikemer district, where a fire that started in the morning spread quickly to a forested area. A total of 5 planes, 20 helicopters, 410 vehicles, and 1141 personnel were deployed to fight the fire. Due to the constantly changing wind direction, 703 people from 408 houses in 6 neighborhoods were temporarily evacuated as a precaution. The fire damaged 55 structures, and 45 patients were transferred from Seydikemer State Hospital to Fethiye State Hospital due to the fire's proximity to the hospital. The Seydikemer-Antalya highway, which was closed to traffic for security reasons, was reopened to traffic at night. In Antalya's Kumluca district, a wildfire that broke out yesterday was brought under control after intense efforts throughout the night. The fire was fought with 2 planes, 4 helicopters, 15 wildfire trucks, 30 fire trucks, and 281 personnel.
