Scorching Heat Wave to Hit Turkey: Meteorology Expert Warns

The air temperature is rising another notch this week. While temperatures are expected to rise above 30 degrees in many provinces in the western regions, experts warned against the risk of forest fires. Meteorology expert Dilek Çalışkan stated that İzmir could measure 34 degrees in the shade, Aydın 36 degrees, and under the sun, the temperature could reach 45 degrees. Çalışkan stated that the temperatures in Istanbul and Ankara will be around 30 degrees. For İzmir and Aydın, Çalışkan made a striking assessment, warning citizens to stay indoors during the hottest part of the day. Experts drew attention to the risk of forest fires. Çalışkan stated that the wind will blow dry in Antalya today and tomorrow, saying, 'We need to be careful about forest fires. The weather will cool down again after Thursday.' Despite the hot weather, some regions will experience rainfall. Çalışkan stated that thunderstorms will be effective in Erzincan, Van, Sivas, Erzurum, and Adana from today, and rainy weather will be seen in the Eastern Black Sea region towards the weekend.
