Turkey and Canada Launch FTA Negotiations

Turkey and Canada have officially launched negotiations for a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.In a meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Canadian Prime Minister, it was decided to formally start FTA negotiations.

Turkey and Canada are officially launching negotiations for a comprehensive, modern and mutually beneficial Free Trade Agreement, marking the next step in this process. Closer economic cooperation will support economic growth, contribute to job creation, increase competitiveness, strengthen supply chains and help our businesses succeed in an increasingly dynamic global economy.

The Trade Minister Ömer Bolat and Canadian Minister for International Trade Maninder Sidhu also announced the start of exploratory talks for a comprehensive FTA in their joint statement released in early June.
