Farewell Ceremony for Turkish Cinema's Veteran Kadir Inanir

The farewell ceremony for Turkish cinema's veteran Kadir Inanir was held at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage. Many artists, politicians, and Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Batuhan Mumcu attended the ceremony for Kadir Inanir, who passed away at the age of 77.Kadir Inanir's nephew Soner Arica said in his speech at the ceremony, 'He was not just my uncle. He was the uncle, brother, and friend of the whole country. I admired him as an artist, he was a great actor.'Before the ceremony, Arica stated, 'I am sad and shocked. We are going through a strange process, my mother passed away three days ago. I am really sad and shocked. I think the essence of the crowd that loves him is here, as many as can fit in this place. I think the whole country is here now.'

As he used to say, 'My body will go, but the films I made will be watched with pleasure years later.' The emphasis on pleasure can be understood as follows: all the films were of high quality, touched on social wounds, chose heroes from among us, and were of high quality, both in terms of acting and screenwriting. So, he will leave his mark on all of you. We will continue our lives with those marks. That's why I'm not saying goodbye to him. He will live on within us.

Film writer Atilla Dorsay said, 'Yeşilçam was a legend. Just like there is Hollywood in America, we had Yeşilçam here, and the films made by Yeşilçam would take people to the cinema in droves. That's when we got to know Kadir Inanir.'
