Turkish Air Force's Eyes in the Sky: HİK Aircraft to Fly 60 Hours for NATO Summit

The Turkish Air Force's Airborne Warning and Control (HİK) aircraft will play a crucial role in ensuring security during the NATO Summit. Based at the 3rd Main Jet Base Command in Konya, these aircraft will fly non-stop for 60 hours to secure Turkish airspace.The HİK aircraft are equipped with multi-functional electronic scanning capabilities, including air and sea radar, allowing them to detect and identify multiple targets within a 400-kilometer range. They can transmit real-time data to ground operations centers, aircraft, and ships in the operational area.HİK Aircraft Mission Team Commander Major Fatih Kulak stated,

We will be performing a 60-hour, 11-sortie mission without interruption. The entire mission will be carried out without interruption, using our HİK aircraft's surveillance capabilities.

Major Kulak also mentioned that the aircraft is known as the E-7T, and their mission is to monitor Turkish airspace during the NATO Summit.Today, they will be flying over the Black Sea region, monitoring potential threats and reporting to relevant authorities. Regarding the flights scheduled during the summit, Major Kulak said,

The Peace Eagle aircraft are involved in various tasks, ranging from counter-terrorism operations to international and national exercises, as well as surveillance missions assigned by NATO in European airspace.
