US President Donald Trump changed planes due to security concerns when departing from Turkey after the NATO Summit. According to The New York Times, this change was made on the advice of the US Secret Service.Trump had used the new Boeing 747-8 aircraft when arriving in Ankara for the summit. However, after the resumption of conflicts with Iran, he flew to the Mildenhall Air Base in the UK on the old Air Force One as a security precaution. There, he switched back to the new plane and returned to Washington.The NYT reported that this decision has raised questions about the security equipment of the new plane. The report stated that Congress members and some officials are concerned about whether the advanced missile defense system and other critical security equipment were fully integrated into the plane donated by Qatar during its accelerated conversion process.
