Using the Indicator Repeatedly in Traffic is Now Considered a Crime
The 12th Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation made a decision regarding the use of indicators in traffic. According to this decision, using the indicator repeatedly to ask for a way or to warn is considered a crime.The decision of the high court states that reducing the following distance and repeatedly using the indicator to the vehicle in front is considered a crime under the category of 'disturbing people's peace and tranquility'. As a result, the possibility of imprisonment for up to 1 year is now open for drivers.Those who disturb other drivers with repeated use of indicators in traffic will be subject to proceedings under Article 123 of the Turkish Penal Code. Under this article, individuals found guilty may face imprisonment from 3 months to 1 year.
