TKP Takes NATO Summit Protest Ban to Court
As the NATO Summit approaches on July 7-8 in Ankara, the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has decided to take the ban on meetings and demonstrations in the city to court.The TKP is seeking the cancellation and suspension of the ban, which was imposed by the Ankara Governor's Office between June 28 and July 10. In a statement on the party's social media account, it was stated that 'our lawyers have filed a lawsuit today for the suspension and cancellation of this decision, which aims to ban NATO protests and events.'The TKP had previously announced that it would hold a rally on July 5 in Ankara's Tandoğan Square with the slogan 'NATO is dishonor and death. Long live life, independence, and socialism.'
