Theater Artist Levent Üzümcü Detained

Theater actor Levent Üzümcü was detained due to a post he made on his social media account.The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation was launched against Üzümcü and he was detained as part of this investigation.The authorities who issued the detention order have not yet made an official statement. Üzümcü announced his detention on his social media account, stating "I am being detained".Levent Üzümcü was born in Izmir in 1972 and graduated from the Theater Acting Department of Eskişehir Anadolu University State Conservatory.Throughout his career, he has played roles in many plays in institutions such as Bursa State Theater, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theaters, and Istanbul Public Theater.Üzümcü has been serving as the General Art Director of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality City Theaters since August 2024.
