New Regulation from the Ministry of Trade for the Sale of Diamonds and Precious Stones

With the new regulation made by the Ministry of Trade, the use of expressions such as 'synthetic' or 'artificial production' in the sale of precious stones produced in a laboratory environment has become mandatory. This regulation was made to enable consumers to distinguish between natural stones and laboratory-produced stones more easily. The use of phrases such as 'synthetic', 'laboratory production', or 'artificial production' is now mandatory in the sale of precious stones produced in a laboratory environment.The regulation made by the Ministry of Trade was published in the Official Gazette and came into effect. According to this, these products will now be sold in a separate section and the consumer will be informed. In sales made over the internet, they will be presented to consumers under separate categories.According to the change made in the regulation, precious stone products produced in a laboratory environment or created with human intervention can no longer be put up for sale without using certain phrases. Sellers will be required to use at least one of the phrases 'synthetic', 'laboratory production', 'artificial production', or similar expressions approved by the ministry for these products.
