Ministry of Trade Conducts Pre-School Inspections

Ahead of the new academic year, the Ministry of Trade has initiated inspections of stationery and school products. The inspections include examination of school and lunch bags, pens, notebooks, erasers, scissors, pencil sharpeners, paints, and adhesives. Additionally, school uniforms are being checked for banned or restricted chemicals, cords, and other hazardous elements. Products deemed hazardous or risky are being tested in accredited laboratories, and their labels and consumer information texts are being reviewed. Products found to be unsafe will be banned from the market and recalled, and manufacturers and importers will face administrative penalties. Consumers are advised to ensure that stationery products have the manufacturer's or importer's name and address, as well as model information and Turkish warnings. It is also important for consumers to check for age warnings and the CE mark on toy-like stationery products.
