Ministry of Trade Intervenes in Shocking Price Gouging in Bodrum

After a video alleging that a business in Bodrum was selling a single scoop of ice cream for 400 lira went viral on social media, the Ministry of Trade took action. The Ministry inspected a business in Bodrum, Muğla, and took a series of measures regarding the sale of a single scoop of ice cream for 400 lira. During the inspection, irregularities were found, and the business was subjected to administrative action. Additionally, the ice cream pricing was referred to the Unfair Price Evaluation Board.

Following complaints from our citizens, we conducted an inspection at a business in Yalıkavak Marina, Bodrum, Muğla, and examined the pricing practices for ice cream products. As a result of the detected irregularities, we applied administrative action to the business; additionally, the ice cream pricing in question was referred to the Unfair Price Evaluation Board.

The Ministry of Trade will continue its inspections, particularly in tourism and vacation areas where consumer activity is high during the summer season.
