TFF Announces New League Name: Professional Transition League

The Turkish Football Federation made several important announcements, including a change to the name of the Regional Amateur League.The Federation announced that as of the 2026-2027 season, the league will be renamed the Professional Transition League (PGL). According to the new statute, players born between January 1, 2002, and December 31, 2011, can be included in the match roster and play. In contrast, up to 5 players born before 2001 can be in the match squad and play. Clubs can register more players from this age group in their extended squads.
