Countdown Begins for July Salary Increases
The salary increase rates for millions of civil servants, retirees, and social benefit recipients, which have been eagerly awaited, will be clarified with the June inflation data to be announced on Friday. The June inflation figures to be announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on Friday, July 3, will finalize the salary increase rates for civil servants and retirees for the second half of the year, making millions wait for this announcement. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increase in the first 5 months of the year was 16.61%. Based on this data, it is expected that the salary increase rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees in July will be at this level. The exact figure will be announced at the beginning of July. The salary increases for civil servants and civil servant retirees are determined based on collective agreement provisions and inflation differences. Civil servants will receive a 7% increase from the collective agreement for the second half of the year. According to calculations based on 5-month data, the July increase rate for civil servants has been finalized at 12.41% as of now. The increase in salary coefficients will directly affect not only civil servants and retirees but also social benefit payments. Disability benefits, home care salaries, and 65-age salaries indexed to the civil servant salary coefficient will also increase by the same rate.
