Hailstorm Devastation in Tekirdağ: Sunflower and Watermelon Fields Destroyed

A hailstorm in Tekirdağ's Süleymanpaşa district affected approximately 35,000 decares of agricultural land. Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Mehmet Aksoy, visited the damaged areas in Ferhadanlı, Hacıköy, Ahmedikli, and Güveçli neighborhoods with his team.After meeting with the producers, Aksoy stated that damage assessment efforts have begun and the most affected neighborhoods are Ferhadanlı, Hacıköy, Ahmedikli, and Güveçli. Aksoy said, 'Due to the severe hail, agricultural fields are covered in mud and the products are soaked. We will wait two days to conduct a healthy damage assessment for sunflowers.'In collaboration with TARSİM teams, damaged areas of canola and watermelon fields are being identified. Aksoy noted that the prepared reports will be promptly submitted to the Presidency, and the necessary process will be carried out to compensate for the producers' losses.
