Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Announces New Rules for Live Animal Slaughter
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has announced new rules for live animal slaughter. According to the new regulation, live animal waiting and slaughter areas must be equipped with surveillance systems that can record for at least one month. Animals will not be subjected to excessive pressure during slaughter. Additionally, digital infrastructure will be established to enable digital tracking of slaughtered animals through electronic ear tagging. The purpose of this regulation is to ensure safe meat production. The amendments to the Hygiene Rules for Animal Products will come into effect on January 1, 2027.
