Tehran Responds to CENTCOM Meeting: 'Regional Security Can Be Achieved with US Withdrawal'
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazım Garibabadi criticized the regional security meeting held by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) in Bahrain, stating that regional security can be achieved through the cessation of external interference and the withdrawal of the US from the region.Garibabadi stated on social media that the meeting in Manama, Bahrain, cannot determine the legal and security order of the Persian Gulf. The Iranian official emphasized that regional security cannot be achieved under the US military umbrella, but rather through respect for the sovereignty of countries and the acceptance of new geopolitical realities.Garibabadi also argued that the security framework for the Strait of Hormuz should be determined by the Iranian administration, not CENTCOM.The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the meeting in Bahrain was attended by senior military officials from several countries, where the current security environment and the passage of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz were discussed.
