Turkey Extends Military Mission in Somalia for 2 Years

The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) will continue to support Somalia in its fight against terrorism and other threats. The decision to extend the TSK’s mission in Somalia by 2 years from July 27, 2026, has been approved. Within this framework, the TSK will provide support to Somalia in its efforts to combat piracy, illegal fishing, smuggling, and other threats. The extension of the mission is expected to contribute to a more effective fight against security problems in Somalia.
