Death Toll Rises in Sivas Due to Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever
A 72-year-old woman in Sivas has lost her life due to Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) after being bitten by a tick. The woman, Şehriban Öztürk, from the Gökköy district of Tokat's Almus borough, had fallen ill after the tick bite about a week ago and was taken to the hospital by her relatives. Öztürk was first treated at Almus State Hospital and then transferred to a hospital in Tokat, before being taken to Sivas Cumhuriyet University Health Services Practice and Research Hospital, where she received treatment in the Anesthesia Intensive Care Unit. Despite efforts to save her, Öztürk unfortunately passed away. Her funeral will be held in the Gökköy district of Almus.
