Another Death from Ticks in Sivas: 55-Year-Old Woman Loses Her Life

A woman being treated for suspected Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) in Sivas has lost her life.55-year-old Solmaz Aksu from Aksu village in Koyulhisar district had a tick attach to her and later fell ill. Aksu was taken to Koyulhisar District Hospital and then referred to Sivas Cumhuriyet University Health Services Practice and Research Hospital. Despite being treated in the Anesthesia Intensive Care Unit for suspected CCHF, Aksu could not be saved. It was learned that Aksu's funeral will be held in Aksu village. In 2025, 12 people in Sivas lost their lives due to tick bites.
