Sudden Shower Warning Amidst Heatwave

While the scorching heat continues to affect the country, the Meteorology Department has issued a warning for sudden thunderstorms and strong winds in many provinces. The weather is expected to change suddenly in Istanbul and the Mediterranean region.The Meteorology Department's latest weather forecast report on August 6 included critical warnings due to the ongoing heatwave. According to the latest assessments, there will be no significant change in temperatures, and the degrees will continue to be above the seasonal norms. However, within the hot weather, thunderstorms and strong winds are expected to affect the northern and inner parts of the country.The northern parts of the country and the interior of the Mediterranean will be partly and locally very cloudy. Local showers are expected in the Marmara Region, especially in the northern coastal areas of Istanbul, Kırklareli, and Kocaeli. Additionally, the Toroslar region of the Mediterranean, as well as the interior and high areas of Antalya and Adana, will experience sudden showers. Thunderstorms are also expected in the Middle and Eastern Black Sea coastal regions, as well as in the surroundings of Artvin, Kars, and Ardahan. Other regions will have partly cloudy and clear weather.
