Four Major Supports from the SGK After Death: Who Can Benefit and Who Cannot?
The Social Security Institution (SGK) provides four significant support services to the beneficiaries left behind after the death of an insured person. These services include death pension, funeral allowance, marriage (dowry) allowance, and lump-sum death payment. However, to benefit from these supports, certain premium payment and insurance conditions must be met.SGK Expert and author İsa Karakaş provided information about the aids provided under life insurance and the conditions required to benefit from them. According to Karakaş's statements, the main supports provided by the SGK are as follows:For a death pension to be granted, the deceased insured must have completed certain premium payment conditions. In general, when calculating the insurance period, the military service and birth loan debts made by the insured during their lifetime or by the beneficiaries after their death are also taken into account. There is a more flexible application for former SSK (4/a) insured. In this calculation, periods such as military service or birth loan debts are not taken into account, and the 900-day premium must consist of debt-free services. For individuals who have worked under multiple insurance statuses, the last insurance status is taken as the basis.According to the SGK legislation, some people cannot receive a death pension even if they are beneficiaries. In the event of a finalized court decision,To benefit from the supports provided by the SGK, beneficiaries must meet a series of conditions.
