Ryanair Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Thessaloniki Due to Engine Failure

A Ryanair flight departing from Thessaloniki, Greece, bound for Germany, made an emergency landing at the Makedonia Airport due to a serious engine failure shortly after takeoff. A part of the engine broke off and hit a passenger window, shattering it and injuring four passengers. The incident triggered a brief panic on board as oxygen masks dropped from the ceiling as a precautionary measure. The flight crew detected the engine failure while flying over North Macedonia. After realizing the issue could not be resolved during the flight, the pilots declared an emergency and decided to return to Thessaloniki. Emergency services, including fire trucks, ambulances, police, and other teams, were put on standby at the airport, and the plane landed safely. Following the incident, four passengers were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
