Investigation into Seferihisar Municipality: Director of Urban Planning Arrested

As part of the bribery investigation into Seferihisar Municipality in İzmir, the Director of Urban Planning, E.U., was arrested after being taken into custody and referred to the court. The investigation, led by the Seferihisar Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was conducted by the İzmir Provincial Police Department's Financial Crimes Unit, which took E.U. into custody. The investigation alleges that certain individuals and organizations affiliated with Seferihisar Municipality received benefits in exchange for their involvement in construction and urban planning processes. On June 17, six suspects, including Seferihisar Deputy Mayor İ.G.P., were detained. One of the suspects, S.Y., was released after giving a statement due to health issues, while Deputy Mayor İ.G.P., construction company officials S.B. and R.K.B., Özlem Akyılmaz, and company official R.Ö. were arrested after being referred to the court.
