Lucky Lottery Winner: 1 Million Euro Ticket Found in Trash

In Italy, a lottery player accidentally threw away their winning ticket worth 1 million euros. The lucky player realized their mistake when a relative reminded them that their usual numbers had been drawn. Roberto Nicola Toscano, the head of the waste management company, stated that a two-day search effort was launched to find the ticket. The player's family noticed that their usual numbers, 2, 4, 8, 10, and 51, had been drawn when they returned home. Toscano, the manager of the SANB company responsible for waste collection in the area, explained that the misunderstanding was realized immediately, and it was discovered that the tickets had been thrown away and collected by the staff. After the player contacted the waste management company, the garbage truck was located before its contents were compacted and taken to a landfill. Toscano stated that the load was fortunate to have been on a Sunday, which prevented it from being taken to the landfill. The truck was taken to a special area, and a search for the small piece of paper began in the massive pile of trash. After a two-day search, the winning ticket was found by a sanitation worker on Tuesday morning. The staff were overjoyed, as if they had won the prize themselves.
