Chemical Explosion in Şanlıurfa During Renovation: 5 Injured

A chemical reaction in the depot of a market in Şanlıurfa's Haliliye district resulted in an explosion during renovation work. The incident occurred in the Ahmet Yesevi Mahallesi neighborhood. The pouring of drain opener into the sewer triggered a chemical reaction, leading to the explosion in the depot. AFAD, fire brigade, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The 5 injured individuals were hospitalized after receiving initial treatment. Measurements taken by AFAD teams revealed that the level of toxic gas in the environment was above normal due to the chemical reaction. The teams conducted ventilation work in the depot to evacuate the gas. Necessary precautions were taken to ensure environmental safety after the incident.
