The Trap of Scammers: 79-Year-Old Woman Loses Gold and Currency

In Istanbul, a 79-year-old woman fell victim to scammers who convinced her with the lie 'police, there is a complaint about you' and lost her jewelry and currency. The suspects, who called the woman all day to gain her trust, had her withdraw her jewelry and currency from the bank vault. Then, one of the suspects went to the woman's house, counted her gold and currency, and went to a jeweler to exchange the gold for dollars. It was determined that the suspects, who targeted the elderly woman living with her caregiver, preferred the times when the caregiver was not at home and convinced the victim that she should be alone at home. As a result of the work carried out by the police teams to catch the suspects, 3 suspects were taken into custody. One of the suspects stated in his statement that he worked for a commission of 1000 dollars and bought a television with the money he received. After the procedures at the police station, the 3 suspects were referred to the court and were arrested by the judge.
